This is me. 40 years old and at my highest weight ever. When I turned 39, I promised myself I would be "fit by 40." So I went on a mission to exercise and watch what I ate (for like the 3,675th time in my life). It lasted about 5 months. I did lose weight but, as always, put it back on *plus more* by the time my 40th birthday rolled around.
I have decided that I truly cannot do this by myself. I have been trying since I was a child. My first diet was when I was 9. I remember passing up birthday cupcakes in 4th grade class. I am sick of trying and failing.
In October 2017, I signed myself up for Gastric Sleeve surgery. I know this road won't be easy, but I am hoping to use this as a tool to help change my life - to help view food differently and learn how to have more control.
I am starting this blog to share my experience - good and bad.
Feel free to follow along and cheer me on!
