One more week!!

What I think will be the last step before my big day was my stress test yesterday.  And....I passed!  Thank the good Lord.  I swear, as soon as they told me my EKG looked bad - I felt like my heart was giving out.  I guess it was all in my head.
If you haven't had one, the stress test wasn't very stressful at all.  Well...except for when I assumed I would be paying my normal $25 copay and was asked for $700+ at the registration desk.  Oy.  Basically, you are injected with radioactive dye when you first get there and you must then sit for 20 minutes while it circulates your heart.  Then you lie within this machine that is similar to an MRI and for 15 minutes it takes a gazillion pictures of your heart at rest.  Once done, they bring you to the fun part.  The treadmill!!  They strap you up to all sorts of wires (I wore a good bra this time!) and put you on the treadmill at a slow pace to start.  Every 30 seconds or so, they speed up the pace and raise the incline until you reach your target heart rate.  I would say it took me about 8-9 minutes to get there.  It wasn't too bad, but surely would have been better with some music and a fan (but my request was denied).  Once you hit your heart rate target, they inject you with the Spider-Man stuff again and make you walk for an additional minute.  You get 20 more minutes of rest after that to let the dye circulate again - and then you are back in the machine for 15 more pictures of your heart - this time, it is not so much at rest.
That's it.  Finito.  It took almost 3 hours, but when it comes to your heart health - they can have those 3 hours of my life.
On my way out of the hospital I hit up the gift shop.  Sometimes they have some different things there that you can't find anywhere else.  I thought maybe I would find something for Connor but instead, I bought myself a little something.
Since I haven't been able to have coffee for a few weeks now, I treated myself to the next best thing - a coffee facial mask!!

Surgery is a week from today.  T-minus 7 days.
